It seems that CDO’s (Chief Data Office or Officer) are becoming more common in large enterprises. I wouldn’t say the role is mainstream yet, but it feels like we are past the “bleeding edge” phase and now in the “early adopter” phase.

This article by Sunil Soares http://www.information-management.com/news/key-considerations-in-es... provides what appears to be a good initial framework for establishing a CDO. I find it interesting that he includes EIM and EDM in the same context.

I’m wonder if readers of this forum are seeing the same trend, and if you’ve come across other good articles or papers that provide best practice recommendations.
